More Food, Less Fluff.
Hi! I’m Jennifer, the home cook and recipe tester behind Curious Keto. I created this site to share practical keto and low-carb recipes, kitchen experiments, and useful cooking information—without making you scroll through my entire life story just to find out how much butter you need.
Cooking is my favorite hobby, even if my regular office job sometimes gets in the way of my culinary ambitions.
Because seriously, isn’t that annoying?
My Approach to Keto
I’m not a nutritionist, a professional chef, or a strict clean keto purist. I’m just someone who enjoys good food and has found that a lower-carb lifestyle works well for me.
My original motivation for trying keto was to get my higher-than-I’d-like blood sugar levels under better control. Along the way, I’ve personally experienced improved energy and some modest weight loss.
Those are my experiences, not promises about what keto will do for everyone.
I also believe eating low-carb shouldn’t require an unlimited grocery budget or a pantry full of expensive specialty ingredients.
I use everyday grocery-store products, take shortcuts when they make sense, and don’t worry about whether every ingredient passes somebody else’s definition of clean eating.
If it tastes good, fits my goals, and doesn’t cost a fortune, I’m interested.
What You’ll Find Here
Curious Keto is primarily a recipe blog, with a little practical food information mixed in.
You’ll find:
- Low-carb and keto-focused recipes made with reasonably accessible ingredients.
- Budget-conscious options because eating differently shouldn’t mean spending a fortune.
- Practical cooking tips and substitutions that actually serve a purpose.
- Honest kitchen experiments, including what I’ve tested and what I’m still figuring out.
- Recipes without the fluff. The food comes first. Always.
I tend to measure with my heart rather than a measuring spoon, so sometimes it’s less about exact measurements and more about that looks about right. But don’t worry—I’ll do my best to translate my kitchen instincts into measurements you can actually follow.
How I Calculate Nutrition
I use USDA FoodData Central as my primary reference for calculating recipe nutrition, supplemented by manufacturer nutrition labels when needed. Because ingredient brands and serving sizes vary, nutritional information is always an estimate.
I calculate net carbs by subtracting fiber from total carbohydrates.
For more information about nutritional estimates and dietary considerations, please see my Disclaimers & Disclosures page.
A Little Curiosity Goes a Long Way
I don’t claim to have all the answers, and I’m always learning something new in the kitchen.
That’s part of the fun.
My goal is simple: share good food, useful information, and recipes worth making again.
No lectures. No food snobbery. No ten-paragraph backstory about a zucchini.
Just more food, less fluff.
Thanks for stopping by!
